Your mother warned you about staying up all night listening to music like this!
Freshly lathered up from the success of their relatively recent worldly tour - and it is a small world, folks - Cow Jazz has just released "So Long Bladder" (words & music by Jack Walker, pictured left)...it's number one with a bullet at http://myspace.com/cowjazz and includes the guitar stylings of honorary band member, Robert Reid.
Jack Walker has worked with a wide variety of musicians over the years and knocks people unconscious with his fine vocal work, his songwriting skills, and those beautiful tones he serves up on Dobro and guitar. And yes... that wonderful instrument pictured with Jack is his brand new Weissenbourn (guitar geeks, please follow related link at bottom of page).
Jim Dix recently contributed "Prorogue Vacation" to the Cow Jazz catalogue...a song that prompted a furious O. Roberts to spout the following ejaculatory voiceless glottal fricative, "He's got no business, like, in show business!!!" Last year, Jim released his first solo effort, "Apply Sparingly, Rinse Well", bits of which can be sampled at his Myspace site (see below). This just in... the CTV production of the new comedy, "Dan For Mayor", has licensed two of Jim's songs for use in the shows premier (Monday, March 1 on CTV at 8:30 ET/PT).
John Merchant (basso profoundus) dovetails a career as musician and pro audio gear specialist, with his love of astronomy and all things relating to studio recording and post production. Hunkered down in the "Stoogio", John mixes the musical smorgasbord that defines Cow Jazz: sounds that often render grown men and women insensate. Assisted by Paul Babiak (tracking), John has produced music for the likes of Bruce Marshall, Starfest, and of course Cow Jazz. Besides bass, he also contributes guitar and mandolin parts, backing vocals, and select lead vocals on some of the band's cover material.
